Leadership
"It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be
evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for
works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up..."

                                                                        ~ Ephesians 4: 11-12 (NIV)
One of our most important groups of people in the church is the leadership.
Comprised of Elders, Deacons and Ministers, each plays a necessary role in
the training and preparation of the church for the Lord's work here at Slicer
Street.
The Elders are the Shepherds of the congregation leading them in the
direction of Christ through decisions made behind the scenes as well as
through their own personal examples.  Using the Bible as their guide, these
men have committed themselves to the great responsibility of making sure the
congregation here is serving each other and the community in the name of
Christ.
Elders
(I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9)
Deacons
(1 Timothy 3:8-13)
The Deacons are the servants of the congregation and stand in the
forefront by taking on various primary responsibilities within the work of the
church.  Some of those ministries include Benevolence, Community Outreach,
Member Visitation, Worship Scheduling, Youth, and Greeting.  These men
have been chosen by the congregation to help in leading and training others to
carry out these various works.
Ministers
(Ephesians 4:11-13)
The Ministers are the men called by God to serve a congregation in many
various ways.  They preach the Gospel, help lead the congregation in
evangelizing the surrounding community, minister to the specific needs of the
families and individuals of the church and fulfill many other various acts of
service to God and the people.
